Valentine’s Day
A warm embrace; imagined.
I grasp at air.
A longing gaze; unanswered.
I stare through emptiness; there’s no one there.
The conversation; hopeless:
I play both sides.
A soft caress; envisioned.
The room is empty; just hollow emptiness beside.
A gentle kiss; everlasting.
But only in my mind.
For I cry on my own shoulder.
Mourn yet another Valentine’s.
