Everyday

Everyday, I rise before the sun,
    But miss the dawn.
And everyday do not lament.
For everyday above my head,
Will this same morning star be sent.

And every night, before I go to sleep,
    I tell myself.
That in the morning, when I rise,
I will for once allow the sun,
To wake in presence of my eyes.

But every night, I feel inside my mind,
    A freighting truth.
And every night in certainty it grows.
That, on the day I choose,
The sky will be obscured by clouds.
The sunrise I will never know.
